Meet Our Staff

Dogwood Dog Training and Sport Center is fortunate to have some of the best trainers in the country! All of our instructors have years of hands on experience training dogs of all shapes, sizes and types!
Dogwood instructors readily train and compete in various canine performance events including obedience, agility, herding, tracking, retriever hunt tests and field trials. Training for multiple venues gives Dogwood instructors a wide range of insight and experience unequaled at any other dog training facility in the Houston area.

Debby Quigley (Owner)

Experience: 25 year
Breeds: Border Collies, Shelties, Siberian Husky and Golden Retrievers
Activities: Obedience, Agility, Herding, Retriever Hunt Tests, Freestyle, Tracking.
Accomplishments: over a dozen – 200 Scores, Placed 3 times at AKC Invitational, 2nd Place in Super Dog at 1999 Pup-Peroni Regional, 1st Place in Novice Division at 1998 Pup-Peroni Classic, and placed 1st in Utility Division at 2000 Detroit World Series. Placed 4th at 1995 Central Regional in Novice, High Score 1995 Central Regional and High Super at the 2000 Classic. Attended multiple National events as well as World team try-outs. 4 OTChs, two MACHs and PAX. #1 Border Collie 1998. Over 100 High in Trials and 100 High Combines. Numerous titles in Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Herding and Hunting venues. Book “Success is in the Proofing“, seminars and workshops around the country.

Judy Ramsey (Behavioral Specialist)

Experience: 30 years
Breeds: Shelties, Doberman, Keeshond, Papillon, Mini Wire Dachshund, Belgian Tervs, Border Collies
Activities: Active in Obedience, Agility and Rally. Member APDT and NADOI. Participated in therapy dog work in a multitude of venues since 1982.
Accomplishments: Judy Ramsey has owned, trained, and titled a variety of breeds. In 1980 she trained and began showing her very first dog, a Sheltie. Since that time she and her family have shared their home with two other Shelties, a Doberman pinscher, two Belgian Tervuren, a Keeshond, two Papillion, a Miniature Wire Dachshund, and four Border Collies. In addition to training and showing her dogs, she actively participated in therapy dog work for more than 20 years, involved her three children in training and showing, and accumulated a multitude of loyal students. Her success is largely due to her ability to create and modify concepts and techniques for any dog regardless of breed and temperament. Over the past three decades, Judy has earned an OTCH, MACH, PAX, a breed Championship and a multitude of other titles in Obedience, Agility, and Rally.

DeNise Clemens (Office Manager)

Experience:20 years
Breeds: Shetland Sheepdogs, Collie, Pomeranian
Activities: Active in Obedience, Agility, and Rally. I have trained and shown in Freestyle, member of APDT, AKC Registered CGC Tester. Have 18 years experience teaching dog obedience classes starting in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Accomplishments: AKC Companion Dog (CD) title with three shelties, AKC Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title with two shelties, AKC Utility Dog (UD) title with two shelties, AKC Utility Dog Excellent (UDX) Title, Dog World Awards, participated in Pup-peroni Reginal competition. AKC Novice, Open and Excellent agility titles. AKC Rally Excellent (RE) Titles with two shelties and AKC Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) Title.

Sandra Marr

Experience: 35 years
Breeds: English Cockers, Labrador Retriever, Dobermans, German Shorthaired Pointers, German Wirehaired Pointers
Activities: Obedience, Rally, Conformation, Agility, Tracking & Field.
Accomplishments: AKC registered CGC Evaluator, AKC Obedience and Rally judge. Multiple AKC obedience titles with Dog World awards, High in Trials, High Combineds, and 2 OTCHs. Nationally ranked #1 obedience English Cockers. Several tracking and field working titles on multiple breeds. AX and MXJ in Agility. Numerous conformation CHs in U.S., Mexico, International and World competition (requires working points) on multiple breeds.

Jan Nuzzo

Experience:27 yearsBreeds: Mixed breeds, Golden Retrievers and Vizslas.
Activities: Tracking, Pointing Dog Hunt Tests, Agility
and Conformation as well as Obedience.
Accomplishments: Titles in AKC,CKC and UKC – Obedience (all levels), Tracking ( multipleTD/TDX), Agility (all levels), Rally, Pointing Dog Hunt Tests (multiple JHs) as well as Conformation (multiple CHs). Proud of my home-bred performance dogs. Formerly with Therapy Dogs International “Canine Company” in NY. Volunteer with Vizsla Rescue. AKC registered CGC tester. Active in local Obedience, All-Breed, Specialty Breed and Tracking clubs.

 

Suki Mooney

Experience: 8 yrs.
Breeds: Labrador Retrievers and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
Activities: Obedience and Agility
Accomplishments: Novice, Open and Excellant titles in Agility.

Tracie Kolnsberg

Experience: 6 years
Breeds: Belgian Malinois, Labrador Retrievers, Collies and Mix Breeds
Activities: After showing horses competitively for over 15 years, Tracie decided to join the fun of showing and training dogs. Tracie currently competes with her beloved rescue Collie Scribble in Obedience and Rally and plans to compete with him next year in Agility. Tracie is also enjoying training her sweet Malinois Peanut, and plans to compete with her in Obedience, Rally and Agility events in the next year.
Accomplishments: Perfect 200 scores, AKC CD, CDX, RE and CGC titles; FFX Obedience Gold Award, F&F #1 Novice A Obedience Collie (2005) and F&F #4 Open A Obedience Collie in 2006

Sarah Fernandezlopez

Experience: 10 years
Breeds: Rottweiler, Miniature Australian Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Border Collie
Activities: Agility
Accomplishments: Has run four dogs, four different breeds, three different jump heights. Three have earned MACH; one has achieved ADCH in addition to MACH. The Golden Retriever was named to the GRCA Agility Dog Hall of Fame. Has competed in three AKC Nationals, three USDAA Nationals, and one AKC Agility Invitational.

Jim Bryson

Breeds: Boston Terrier, Beagle, Sheltie, Cocker Spaniel, Dalmatian and Brittany.

Accomplishments: 9 CDs and 2 CDXs on Pembroke Welsh Corgis; Rally titles on five Corgis, TD’s on eight Pembrokes, finished 9 Conformation Champions, and bred 6 Conformation Champions. Junior Hunter title on a Vizsla. Provisional AKC Tracking judge.

Accomplishments: Agility titles. Maintained AKC dog breeders kennel for 10 years – Cardhill kennels. Assisted in breeding operations, Kennel construction and on-going maintenance of kennel operations. Participated in AKC Confirmation Dog shows and achieved 1st place Non Sporting group at the age of 16.

Invitational Qualifier, nationally ranked berners in obedience for the breed, Rally titles, Conformation championships(CH) TD tracking titles on 4 berners, TDX tracking titles on 3 berners. One of my dogs was the first Bernese Mt. Dog to earn AKC’s VCD3 award, another one was the 4th to earn the VCD3. (Versatile Companion Dog = UD + AX + AXJ +TDX)
